ICGA EID PICNIC HAS BEEN CANCELED

Dear Community Members: Assalamualaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
Due to the rain and cold weather this morning, we have decided to cancel the Eid picnic. Yesterday, the weather forecast for Sunday looked good with very little chance of rain. But, Subhanallah, weather changed for the worse this morning. Its raining in almost all parts of the city right now. With the convenience and safety of children and families in mind, we have decided to cancel the event.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

The moon of Shawal has been sighted in multiple countries in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Palestine, Kuwait, …) accordingly ICGA will celebrate Eid El-fiter on Sunday, September 20th, 2009.
A formal and detailed announcement in coordination with NAMCC will be sent tonight after 9:30 pm.

Eid-ul-Fitr Announcement

The Islamic Center of Greater Austin (ICGA) and the North Austin Muslim Community Center (NAMCC) are coordinating Eid prayer logistics for this year. We will announce day of the Eid on Saturday night, around 9:30pm, Insha-Allah.

Please note that for Eid-ul-Fitr, NAMCC follows local moon sighting in North America while ICGA follow global moon sighting. Both Islamic Centers will make their decisions accordingly, and then make the joint announcement on Saturday night.

Takbir starts at 9:00 am
Prayer starts at 9:30 am
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Please start early to beat the traffic and
give enough time for driving into downtown
and for parking. Plan on arriving by 8:30am.
- Parking cost is $7 per car and has to be paid when you enter
the parking lot
- Zakat-ul-Fitr must be paid to the needy before Eid Prayer.
All Zakat-ul-Fitr collected by ICGA and NAMCC will be
distributed locally through the HAPP organization.

Layla-tul-Qadr & Khatm-e-Quran at Manor - 27th Ramadhan, Wed 9/16

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Insha-Allah, ICGA will host the Layla-tul-Qadr & Khatm-e-Quran at Masjid Khadija on the 27th of Ramadhan, Wed, Sep 16. We will have both Sh Ramadan and Sh Uthman lead part of the Taraweeh prayers. There will be a special Dua after the prayers. Please plan to attend and take part in this blessed night of prayers and supplications.
In addition, we have planned special Iftar, sweets, and tea for the night. Baby sitting will be provided also. We encourage community members to spend the night at the Masjid, to read Quran, make Istaghfar, and join us in the Qiyam-ul-Layl at 4am. Arrangements for special Suhoor are also being made.
Please plan on attending and making the most of the night of Layla-tul-Qadr.

As announced last year, Islamic Center of Greater Austin will be following global moon sighting for determining the beginning and the end of Ramadan Insha'allah. Moon sighting reports from any Islamic center in North America or an official report from any Muslim country will be accepted.
We are having two Iamms visiting for the Month of Ramadan:
Dr. Ramadan,
A graduate of Al Azhar University
Ph.D in Sharia (Specialty in Aqeeda -Creed-).
Imam Muhammad Uthman al-Qasim
He was born in U.K. and educated in Makkah. He has been Imam of the Masjid Qattan in which Shaikh Ibn Uthaymeen.
To verify the start of Ramadan please stay tuned to ICGA emailing list, check our website at www.austinmosque.org or call the Masjid after 9:00pm at 512-926-9221 after 9:00pm tonight.
If Ramadan happen to be on Friday 8/21st then Tarweeh prayer will be held at Manor Masjid tonight at 9:30pm.

Alhamdulillaah, the month of Ramadaan is coming to an end and we are happy to announce that Eid will be either on Tuesday, September 30th or Wednesday October 1st depending on the moon sighting at the end of the month or Ramadaan.
The Decision for ‘Eid-Al-Fitr, 2008
o If Eid is on Tuesday, September 30th, then ICGA will arrange ‘Eid prayer at the Manor Masjid.
o If Eid is on Wednesday, October 1st and the day coincides with the NAMCC, ICGA will join the brothers and sisters in Crockett center to pray together with the community. If the day doesn’t coincide with NAMCC ‘Eid then ICGA will arrange ‘Eid prayer at the Manor Masjid.

Juma'a Prayer Time in Manor Msoque will be at 1:15pm as of Friday 8/29/2008

A request for time change was made by APA. Starting this year, the school will end at 1:15pm. By delaying the Juma’asalaat by 15 minutes, the school will benefit in the following manner:
- The students can go home with their parents after Juma’a instead of going back for one 30 min class and then go home.
- This will attract more parents to come to Juma’aat Manor and will save an additional trip for some other parents. (22 Aug 2008)

Br. Tarek Dakkak, elder brother of Br. Marwan Dakkak passed away today in Austin. He was 72 years old.
Inna Lillah Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'oon. To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
Janaaza will be tomorrow Thursday 12/27/07 after Zuhr prayes at 1pm at Manor Masjid on 5110 Manor Rd.
Burial will be after the prayer at the ICGA Cemetery. We encourage everyone to participate and pray for the deceased. (27 Dec 2007)

*** Thuresday is the 2nd Day of Eid Aladha for ICGA and the first day of Eid for NAMCC, ICGA Imams decided to delay the Eid prayer to the 2nd day of Eid for the sake of Unity of the Muslims in Austin.
